NaNoWriMo starts tomorrow, in case you didn’t know. I’m cautiously optimistic about my chances of finishing this year. But then I said that last year too. This year, I feel a lot more confident in my story than I did last year, even though I did less outlining this year than I did last year. I think the reason is that I’m more excited about this plot than I was for that one.
There are still a few areas of my plot that I’m unsure of. First, I’m not sure how magic is going to play into the story. I know I want it to, but I don’t know how to go about it yet. Harry will be living as a muggle, for the most part, and he’ll be engaged to a muggle, so he’ll necessarily be hiding a lot of his magic. I guess I’ll just have to see how it comes up when I start writing.
Speaking of starting, I plan on starting tonight at midnight. I really want to get as much done this first week of NaNoWriMo as possible so that I can spend some time on You Only Have to Ask, my main Castle WIP. I’m a week behind on that as is, and I haven’t had much luck with that chapter. I don’t want to let that sit for too long or I might end up in the same boat I was in when I wrote Love’s Journey.
It’s the day before NaNo, so I’m going to end this here. I’m going to blow it out of the water this year. I’m going to not only get 50K written, but I’m also going to finish the story and maybe finish You Only Have to Ask. It’s a lot of work, but it sounds like a lot of fun. I’ll check in here at the end of the month so that I can see if I lived up to my boasts.
